| From time-to-time Nulex customers comment, "the fittings on our Nulex tanks are corroding." What appears to be corrosion, is really only fertilizer crystals. Nulex is NOT corrosive. But because Nulex is thinner than water, it can escape through "micrscopic-sized" weep holes. Since the hole and the amount of liquid escaping is so small, no dripping or puddling ocuurs, making the leak undetectable. As the Nulex slowly escapes, liquid exposed to the air evaporates and the remaining solids crystallize. It is a long, slow process that can give the appearance of corrosion. To clean these crystals from fittings, use a weak aqua ammonia solution and a wire brush. Underneath you'll find fresh, clean metal. |
