Inhibits Harmful Rust & Corrosion of Fertilizer Storage Tanks
When applied under label directions, Rust Resister will inhibit the formation of rust and corrosion. Rust Resistor floats on top of the fertilizer. As the level changes, a protective coating is deposited on the inside of the tank. Even if the tank is full, Rust Resister will inhibit rust formation just above the fertilizer level. Coating of the inside wall will then begin as the liquid level drops. Rust Resister may be used with many types of neutral fertilizers and salt solutions; such as
UAN, 10-34-0, 7-21-7, sea water, etc. Do not use with highly corrosive or acid fertilizers or aqua ammonia. Questionable fertilizers should be tested for compatibility. |
TREATING EMPTY TANKS
Rust Resister may be applied undiluted to exposed metal surfaces. If this is impractical, pour recommended amount of Rust Resister (see above formula or table) over bottom of tank. As tank is being filled, a protective coating will be deposited on the inside of the tank. Replenish Rust Resister as needed to maintain a 1/8" layer. A replenishment rate of 1/4 the initial amount is recommended on an annual basis.
TREATING NURSE TANKS, APPLICATORS, TRANSPORTS
Add Rust Resister at the rate of 5 gallons per 1000 gallons of rinse water. Fill tank and then drain slowly. To economize, rinse water may be pumped to other nurse tanks. Replenish Rust Resister as needed.
HUNDREDS OF USES
Rust Resister effectively prevents rust on any exposed steel or iron surface. It is an excellent lubricant and can be used in the machine shop on bolt threads, liquid valves, chains, augers etc.

Nulex, Inc. shall not be liable, and any and all claims against Nulex, Inc. are hereby waived, for any expense, costs, and any other charges of any nature, and for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, of any nature, including, but not limited to, loss of profits or income, product loss, labor charges, whether or not based on Nulex, Inc.'s negligence, breach of warranty, strict liability in tort, or any other cause of action.
Rust Resister is sold subject to the understanding that the buyer assumes all risks of use or handling which may result in loss or damage which are beyond the control of the seller. The exclusive remedy of the user or buyer, and the limit of the liability of the supplier, or any other seller, for any and all losses, injuries or damages resulting from the use or handling of Rust Resister shall be the purchase price paid by the user or buyer for the quantity of Rust Resister used.
The buyer and all users are deemed to have accepted the terms of this notice, which may not be varied by any verbal or written agreement.

Rust Resister is not expected to present a significant health hazard upon short term exposure.
EMERGENCY and FIRST AID
- INHALATION: Vaporization is not expected at ambient temperatures; therefore, Rust Resister is not expected to be an inhalation problem under anticipated conditions of use. Mist inhalation can cause coughing. In case of overexposure, move person to fresh air.
- EYE CONTACT: Flush eyes with clean, low-pressure water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the eyelids. If pain or redness persists after flushing, obtain medical attention.
- SKIN CONTACT: Remove by wiping; then wash skin thoroughly with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and thoroughly clean before reuse. Discard contaminated leather gloves and shoes.
- IN CASE OF INGESTION: Call the poison control center and follow instructions. If victim is vomiting, roll on side to prevent choking. Keep material from aspirating into the lungs ( can cause chemical pneumonia).

SPILL AND DISPOSAL
PRECAUTIONS IF MATERIAL IS SPILLED OR RELEASED: Safely stop flow of spill. Evacuate nonessential personnel from immediate spill area due to slipping hazards. In urban area, cleanup as soon as possible: In natural environments, cleanup on advice from ecologists. This material will float on water. Absorbent materials and pads can be used. Spills into waterways will need to be reported to the national response center at 800-424-8802. Comply with all applicable laws. The spilled material and any soil or water which it has contacted may be hazardous to animal/aquatic life.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS:
Materials not mixed with other chemicals would not be RCRA regulated. Maximize product recovery for reuse or recycling. Conditions of use may cause this material to become a "hazardous waste", as defined by state or federal laws. Use approved treatment, transporters, and disposal sites in compliance with all applicable laws. If spill is introduced into a waste-water treatment system, chemical and biological oxygen demand will likely increase.
FIRE and EXPLOSION
HAZARDS: Slightly combustible! OSHA/NFPA Class-IIIB combustible liquid. When heated above its flash point, this material will release flammable vapors which can burn in the open or be explosive in confined spaces if exposed to an ignition source. Mists or sprays may be flammable at temperatures below the normal flash point. Keep away from extreme heat and open flame. EXTINQUISHING MEDlA: Dry chemical and carbon dioxide. Foam is effective but may cause frothing. Use water fog to cool nearby materials. |
